Facebook is one of the best ways to advertise your next event, whether it’s a backyard barbecue or a thousand-person conference. The International Business Times reports that the social network is making changes to its events pages, which will make it easier to advertise events for the growing share of mobile users.
The social media giant reports that it sees an average of 655 million unique users on its mobile app every month, and 44% of users now exclusively login from their mobile devices. In the past, advertising events from the Facebook mobile app was clunky and didn’t offer the same customization options provided to desktop and laptop users. One of the biggest changes – though it may seem small – is the ability to now attach cover art and photos.
“Facebook has heard feedback from people that adding a cover photo to private events like dinner parties and barbecues helps make your event stand out (and you’re more likely to get higher engagement/RSVPs),” a Facebook representative wrote, according to the news source. “Finding and adding cover art had been especially tough to do on mobile.”
