Promoting your event on social media is one of the best ways to ensure its success. Last year, there were more than 55 million public events created on Facebook alone, and included everything from conferences to festivals.
Now, to further improve the ways in which hosts can promote their events on Facebook, the social media giant announced some key changes to make the process more efficient.
“Public event creators and promoters told us they wanted more robust tools to more easily create and manage events, as well as promote these events to reach a target audience,” says Hema Budaraju, product manager for Facebook Events.
Numerous aspects of the event creation flow have improved, and it now includes Events Ticketing Ads. Also, event planners can now draft event pages and embargo their release time to a later date. To make Facebook events even friendlier, hosts have the option to generate QR codes for their events, which can be shared online or in printed materials.
Facebook users may also have recently noticed the inclusion of an “interested” option when RSVP’ing to an event for those who are still on the fence about attending.
